Information on the placement test in German as a Foreign Language
The placement test consists of five short authentic texts with increasing degrees of difficulty following the new rules of German spelling. All five texts are selected randomly.
Allowing for understanding the topic of each text, its title and the first and last sentence, have not been changed.
In the remaining part of each text, half of the letters or one letter more is missing in every second word. For example, if a word has five letters the three last letters will be missing. It is your task to correctly insert the missing letters.
In each text there are twenty words to be completed correctly as explained above. Thus the maximum score is 100 points.
