- Lecture period: Mon-Thu 9-12 am and 1:30-4:15 pm, Fri 9 am-12:30 pm
- During the semester break: Mon-Thu 9-12 am and 2-3 pm

How do I find a Tandem partner?
Tandem Partners can be found advertised on the Language Centre’s bulletin board (3rd floor reception, media library for language learning) or through the Tandem database.
Who can take courses at the Language Centre?
- Students of all faculties at the Humboldt-Universität
- HU staff members and alumni, if there are places available. When you have been admitted to a course, you need to pay the course fee in cash in room 3.35.
How do I register for courses?
- All courses (including compact courses during semester breaks) are subject to registration. This can only be done online (only Humboldt students). To find out when it is possible to register for a course, go to Semester Courses or to Compact and Intensive Courses.
- Staff members and alumni can, as of the beginning of the course, enquire about the possibility of attending.
Which course level is right for me?
- You can take a placement test on the Semester Courses or Compact and Intensive Courses website to find out which level is right for you.

How much do the language courses cost?
- Students at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, HU staff and HU Alumni have to pay to take the courses offered by the Language Centre (see the Language Centre’s Course Fee Regulations).
